The original and best. This is a high quality cotton-cloth filter, simply known as the 'Coffee Sock' in Singapore. It's the traditional method with which to brew your Nanyang Kopi (there's a much thinner muslin-style one for Tea), providing the authentic silky and velvety mouthfeel to your brews - an experience no other filter provides.
This is a reusable filter, so just rinse, wring and dry after each use. No need for throwaway paper filters like other brewing methods! It can also be used for other coffees, not just Nanyang Kopi!

Coffee will cause the cloth to permanently stain due to natural oils found. This is considered normal
The more the Coffee Sock is use, the better it is 'seasoned' (like a wok). When replacing, start using the replacement Coffee Sock for the odd brew before hand, to give it a chance to be seasoned before it's regularly used
Care Instructions
Hand-wash only, not dishwasher safe
Rinse inside out under the tap until all coffee grinds are gone, wring and hang to dry
No need to use dish detergent - it will strip flavourful oils / seasoning from the coffee sock
Always rinse and wring filter before each use
Replace when the sock has visibly undergone wear and tear, and coffee grounds are found in your cup (every 3-6 months approx but can be much longer)
Steep in freshly boiled water for 5 minutes as required to disinfect if required
